This last week, the media was all over hot topic SuperBowl commercial starring Heisman Trophy Winner, Tim Tebow. Many news outlets ran stories on this matter with a negative agenda to bash Focus on the Family for paying so much money to run the commercial. Liberal media, from televisions, newspapers, and blogs, all ranted about this ‘Anti-Abortion’ advertisement being aired during the football game to millions of people all over the nation, a majority of them being men. When the commercial finally aired it was simply a sweet mom sharing her love for her son, “Timmy”. There was nothing mentioned about abortion. Hindsight should tell the media not to jump to conclusions, because they just look like extremists now. Why get all riled up about a mom saying how much she loves her son? How about we get riled up about LIFE??!?

Mrs. Tebow’s message is about life, love, and family. What is your message of life, love, and family? There are far too many stories out there that discredit the family unit. The media targets negative stories. All the more reason to publish the good stories. Instead of stepping into negativity, let’s step into life! photo: sxc.hu

My story begins with Jessica. God blessed us with this baby girl seventeen years ago. We began our family with love for one another and our love for God. He blessed us with a baby girl and enjoyed our time with her for a few years before God blessed us with another girl, Monica. Both times we weren’t financially set, but we made it through. Sacrificing luxuries is worth it when we have each other to love on. Our family continued to grow in the Lord and we were told by someone that we should have stopped having children after our first daughter. We were also told that by someone that if we had anymore they’d leave the country. This person also insisted on one of us having surgery to stop having more. That was after having only two children. God saw fit to bless us yet again, with another girl. Our family was growing and love was abounding through the lives of these little girls. We had some hard years, but we made it through with the loving tender guidance of God’s Holy Spirit. We chose life, love, and family with all three pregnancies. A few more years later he blessed us again.

Even in our previous church that says they are pro family, we had some critics. If they don’t want to choose life, then that is their choice, but our choice is what God gives us. This time He blessed us with a baby boy! What joy! We are so happy we chose life! Our family has been through some very hard times, but life is what carries us through, the Life of Jesus Christ. He is the reason we have life and the reason our family has so much love. We chose to step into life.

John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
