From the Editor’s Desk

During our first year of growing in Grace, our team of writers worked and prayed diligently in regards to writing about the Fruits of the Spirit. The Fruit of the Spirit is explained in Galatians chapter 5. When we have received Christ as our Saviour, by accepting Him as the New Covenant, we are told that we will walk in the Spirit and our lives will display the fruits of the Spirit.

With a new year of Growing in Grace Magazine, we also have had growth in the lives of some of our writers. Some have taken on new directions in their lives and in personal ministries. We thank those writers for their diligence in writing for God’s Glory here at GGM. We want to extend a fond farewell to the Dixon Family as they set out on their journey as a family in other areas of ministry.

This month our focus is on the theme of our magazine, Grace. Over the last few months, God has been showing my family a more intimate walk with our Saviour and has shown us His Grace in a fresh new way. We are thankful to have had our eyes opened to an area of spiritual thirst so that we could realize our need for a deeper journey with Christ our King.

We have some special guests writers this month and GGM is always open to welcoming new writers as well. We have received some interested young ladies and have sent back letters of inquiry for samples of their writing. If you are one of those young ladies, we need to hear back from you. If for some reason our last email to you was lost in cyberspace, please email again and we can resend it to you. ggm editor at gmail dot com.

We pray for you to also enjoy a new found journey with Christ that will draw you into a more intimate relationship with Him. We know we will never ‘arrive’ in this physical life and we must always seek a deeper relationship with Him.

Please enjoy this Sign Language Video of Amazing Grace by a Deaf Sister in Texas. The soundtrack is by LeAnn Rimes.
It’s called Sunrise Earth. Sunrise Earth is a feed of the many different sunrises from around the world. You never know where you may ‘travel’ next. From the Vermont balloon races to Palo Verde National Park in Costa Rica. God’s creation is so beautiful and this program allows us to see it. For those of you who may not have cable, you can purchase the different sunrises on DVD here. Here are some screen shots from some episodes. It’s so refreshing to hear the sounds of nature in the morning time. I like to read the Psalms that talk about God’s creation, such as Psalm 104 and 136.

Ingredients:

Fresh strawberries from your local farmer’s market, washed and hulled
Mandarin oranges from the can, drain the juice first
Scored Lemon rind
Candied Walnuts
Raspberry vinaigrette

Get a large bowl and toss in the strawberries, oranges, scored lemon rind, candied walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette.

For the lemon rind, you can use the Pampered Chef Zester/Scorer. Hold the lemon in one hand and the zester in the other hand, grip around the handle leaving your thumb on the handle. Press firmly against the lemon as you turn it and pull back on the zester at the same time. Cut lemon zest to desired length for your salad. The Pampered Chef Zester/Scorer is a handy kitchen tool and we use it for many different recipes.
