Autumn Decor

During the holiday season, one of the things that gets people into the holiday mood are all the decorations that are put up. So much of the time, these decorations tend to be limited to stores and house fronts, especially during the beginning of the holiday season; however, this does not have to stay that way! Decorating the inside of the house is a great way to add a little more of the spirit and beauty of a holiday into your life. So, here are two great decoration ideas that will help you as you get the house ready for the holidays.

• Homemade Napkin Rings:
• All you need to make these cute napkin rings is:
• 2” by 6” strips of soft denim; you will need as many strips as you need napkin rings. You can do what I did and cut up a pair of old jeans or an old skirt. You will need
• white thread
• a needle
• small leaves; two per napkin ring

Step 1. Take a strip of denim, and start fraying the edges along the long sides of the strips. Keep doing that until you frayed edges area about a ¼ inch long.

Step 2. Thread your needle, and start sewing the two sides of the strip together.

Step 3. Making one tiny stitch each, sew the leaves on the center of you ring.

Lamp Garland
All you need to make this pretty lamp garland is:
One strand of leaves. You can find these at craft stores, and even a mega-marts. They are usually about $4 or $5.
Two twist ties. You can do what I did and reuse the ones that come on bags of bread from the store.

Step 1. Using a twist tie, secure one end of the strand of leaves onto the top of the chandelier.

Step 2. Wrap the garland down the chandelier.

Step 3. When you reach the end of the strand, secure this end to either another part of the strand or the chandelier.
