How to Build Faith

How do you speak to a person about trusting in the Lord if they have no faith? It takes faith to believe in the Lord and it takes faith to please the Lord. Sometimes it may seem like people won’t listen to the plan of salvation, so how can you help build their faith?

Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

In order to build faith we must hear the Word of God. We must have a foundation in which we build upon. If we attempt to toss out a few verses to someone who has no faith their steps to salvation may not be very sturdy. A good way to help build someone’s faith is to speak the very Word of God to them in your conversations. This is why memorizing God’s Word is so crucial if you have a desire to lead souls to Christ. Some verses that I like to keep fresh in my mind for this purpose are:

John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

1 John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Luke 5:32, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

There are so many good verses to memorize, all of them are. Yet when you acquaint yourself with the necessary verses that coincide with the plan of salvation you’ll have plenty of spiritual ammunition to quote that will build their faith in God’s Word. There’s no need to remember where it is found in the Bible, the numbers of chapters and verses were not inspired by God, just the words.

Here is a challenge for you. Take the following verses, which are the most popular used verses when leading a lost soul to Christ, and find 2-3 more verses that confirm the truths told in those verses and memorize them. We would love to know which verses you chose so please feel free to post below in the comment section which verses you chose.

Romans 3:10 (KJV) “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9 (KJV) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

1 John 5:13 (KJV) “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
