Shh... It's A Secret!

by Miss Amanda

Is it so neat to have a special friend who sends you encouragement, prayers, notes, gifts and such when you don't know who it is? I sure love it! That is just what a Secret Pal is! I remember when I was little that Mama used to run our church's secret pal group. It always fun to see everyone's faces when they got their gifts! I love giving to others and being a secret pal is a great way to do that! There are many different names that secret pal groups have: Secret Sisters, Secret Angels, Secret Pals or Secret Friend. You can come up with your own.

I came up with my own last year. They are the Super Secret Angels! I run it for ladies. I tell the ladies that join the SSA's that they should:

Pray for your SSA
Leave them a “from your SSA” comment at least once a week. If you have to be logged in, please email me and I will give you the login for this blog to leave a comment on their blog.
If you had to put an email address for anything, please leave supersecretangels@yahoo.com in the box, so that you don’t leave your personal email address and give yourself away.
You can, but are not required to send anything to them. If you choose to do so, some ideas of things you can send are: letters, notes, cards, or little gifts that encourage them and their walk.
If you send your SSA a gift through the mail, please put this as the return address:

You can really do anything… but you CANNOT let them know who you are! This is not a swap. Your SuperSecretAngel DOES not know who you are. It’s a secret.
It is so fun to be a special friend to someone you may not know very much and learn more about them and pray for them and just be an encouragement for them!

I asked some of my SSA girls to tell me what a great opportunity it is to be an SSA!

Elyse - 13yo
Being a Super Secret Angel for me was more than just having fun for me. It took me farther in my spiritual journey. It was amazing how you can feel prayer from where ever your SSA is in the country. Thank you, Amanda for arranging the SSA's!

Sam - 13yo
Being an ssa is fun because you are able to meet new girls, often ones you would have never been able to "meet" before! Also if you happened to stumble upon their blog you could have dismissed it but this way you are really able to connect and get to know them. You can send them fun gifts and leave them special comments! Knowing that my ssa prays for me and leaves me comments makes me feel special. You can pray for her daily and that has to be the best thing. Miss Amanda has done a fantastic job on making this possible and gives you a great experience. I will do this as much as possible.

Hannah - 15yo
I believe that being a Super Secret Angel is an experience that has greatly blessed my life, and encouraged me daily! Simply knowing that another person is praying for you daily, thinking of you, and sometimes suprising you with comments, cards, and thoughtful verses is wonderful, and it makes my day many times. It’s a lot of fun to guess who is your SSA, and to keep your identity unknown from your’s. I love having the opportunity to pray for another girl, to get to know her, and just to generally try to bless her life! It’s a lot of fun, and not only can you bless someone else...you get blessed too!

I love being part of the SSA group of young ladies. I think it's so wonderful to have friend of the same age, and so full of God's love to encourage you in your everyday walk. For me I live in an area where there are not many Christian young ladies around that I here from, so it¢s wonderful to have an encouraging sister in Christ! I love also having an SSA to comment and surprise at the end of the session. The Super Secret Angels group is a true blessing that I am so thankful for!

Amber - 18yo
I like being a SSA because I like having someone to pray for and encourage, which is what we're supposed to be doing for each other as Christians. It is also nice having someone doing it back to you at the same time, that way when you are feeling discouraged and not really feeling like encouraging anyone, your SSA comes along to cheer you up so you have the strength to continue through your day and you pass that on to your SSA, and they pass it on to theirs.

Katy - 18yo
I think that one of the best things about being an SSA is being able to bless someone else with out them knowing it. I love getting comments from my SSA and the whole wondering who it is is so much fun :) Basically just to know that someone is praying for me and stuff...it is neat.

Anne - 21yo
I enjoyed being in the SSA's because of the encouraging comments I got on my blog on a regular basis...and it was fun to try to be encouraging to my SSA as well.

I think it is a wonderful thing to be a secret friend! It is fun, and such a blessing to encourage, pray, love and edify each other as Super Secret Angels!
