“Excuse me ma’am, but would you like paper or plastic.” You might hear that whenever you go to the grocery store. Paper Bag Day is July 12th.

So what about the paper bags? They were invented by Francis Wolle on October 2, 1852 for customers to be able to carry more items. They are used for way more than that though.

Sometimes we like to have a little fun and make puppets out of them, especially for younger kids. If you are interested in making some of these crafts visit this site filled with Paper Bag Templates at DLTK. You can use them for all kinds of things, but here are some of my suggestions…
· Sunday school lessons
· A puppet show
· A skit
So grab some paper bags and use your imagination for some simple fun.

I LOVE DLTK, it's a GREAT site. We always use psper if given the chance, as much as possible. I've started using the grocery 'tote' bags that can be used over and over again, too. Some are really worth the money :)
Thanks for the info, Lady Olivia!
What a cute idea!

When I don't use our reusable bags I get paper. When the children were little I would cut them up into paper for art projects. They loved them!
We use them to wrap packages to mail and to hold recyclables that need to be taken to the recycling station.
