Cheesecake, Yummm!

August is National Cheesecake Month. In honour of that, I am going to give you a few recipes so that you can also enjoy this delicious desert. One thing we have every Thanksgiving is Grandma's Cheesecake. My Great-Grandmother gave us the recipe she used to make cheesecake with. That is the one we usually use. It's just delicious! Try it for yourself.

Grandma Walter's Cheese Cake
Here's what you need to make this delicious cheesecake my Grandma taught us to make.

1 8ounce box of cream cheese
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tsps. of vanilla
1/3 cup of sour cream
1 8ounce carton of Cool Whip or Whipped Topping
1 Graham cracker pie crust

Here's how to make it:
Mix the first ingredients well, then fold the whipped topping into it. Spoon it into pie crust. Then you can stick it in the fridge if you are making it ahead of time so it is a little firmer when you cut it. It's that simple to make a treat that your whole family can enjoy.

This is also a favorite and festive cheesecake:

American Berry No-Bake Cheesecake
NOTE: You will need to make this one early.

Prep Time:
15 min

Total Time:
3 hr 15 min

Makes:
8 servings

2 pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/3 cup sugar

2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

1 HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.)

1 pt. (2 cups) strawberries, halved

1/3 cup blueberries

Beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping. Spoon into crust. Refrigerate 3 hours or until set. Arrange strawberries and blueberries on top of cheesecake. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

Some things you can put on cheesecakes are:

berries - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries - whipped topping, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, nuts, cookies, little candies. There are so many possibilities when working in the kitchen. Just be creative with what you have.

You don't need an occasion to make a cheesecake. What other occasion do you need besides enjoying it with your family? :)
