Thinking of You
Well, many of you may realize that pink is my all time favorite color and it has been for as long as I can remember. I have no memory of ‘when’ it ‘became’ my favorite color. My mother said that I have just always loved pink! I can remember all sorts of pink things that I had while growing up. Even now when I’m out shopping, my eyes are drawn to pink things immediately!
My husband’s mother is like this with rocking horses. She collected rocking horses for many years! My dad likes any kind of antique toys and the other day my eye was drawn to a really CUTE retro pink scooter. I only wish I would have found it when my girls were little enough to enjoy it. I’d like to have one JUST because it’s PINK. :O) Wouldn’t it be cool to have a pink retro motorized scooter? I wonder if Janice and Susan could find out how to get one of those?
When you get to know a person and their interests you’ll begin to think of them anytime you see that item, even when you are away from one another. A good friend of mine likes pansies and any time I see pansies I think of her. I love sunflowers as well as do other women I know, like Sister Angie. Whenever I see a sunflower my mind immediately thinks of her.
I know a wonderful Christian Lady named Mrs. Loretta Walker, from Roundup Ministries, who once said that receiving strawberries was a way for her to know God is thinking of her. All she had to do was tell me this and any time I see strawberries I think of her relationship with God.
This got me to thinking, and yes having me ‘think’ can be a serious situation. My family knows that whenever that little light bulb comes on in my mind, and they can tell by the look on my face, that I grab the nearest pen and paper to take notes. So, as I was saying, I was thinking about this special way of knowing God is thinking of me. Now I know he thinks of me all the time, because He is a great Father and I know He loves me, BUT there was something He gave me one day. He gave me a beautiful gift that I will always love!
Did you know that God knows our every thought? He knows what my favorite color is and He KNOWS that my eye is drawn to PINK things. He knows that whenever I see PINK I am drawn to that item, so He gave me something PINK one day and I KNEW He wanted ME to think of HIM. That thing He gave me was a beautiful PINK sunset. Don’t get me wrong, I know He wants me to think of Him even on the days that I don’t see a PINK sunset, but on those days in particular I really sense that He is trying to get my attention.
Now I can’t show you in the Bible where He says, “Whenever you see a PINK sunset you need to think of me.” However He does show us in His word that He loves us by giving us this beautiful earth, when we read about Adam and the Garden of Eden. God placed Adam in this perfect garden and gave Adam the wonderful opportunity to name all the animals! Can you just imagine being asked by God to name creatures He has formed with His very own hands and that you would forever be known as the one who came up with the name of platypus, or the orangutang?
I think that anytime God sees a platypus or an orangutang that He thinks of Adam.
What is it that God sees that reminds Him of you? Do you have a talent that is used to show kindness to others? Do you make hand made items that you give to those you are about?
What is it that YOU see that reminds you of God? Is there something special in your mind like a pink sunset or a sunflower that reminds you of God and that He wants YOU to think of HIM?
Psalm 139:14, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (KJV)

What a great post to remind us how God uses our favorite things to remind us of himself & his deep love for us.
I also love pink! So now I have a pink phone, coffee mug, fuzzy slippers, and more. How fun! Even better is to catch those God moments & savor them.
Thanks SisterLisa!
This was so sweet! Whenever I see a butterfly I think of Him and that I’m a new creation in Christ. It’s our special thing. I love how He sends us these litle “love signals”.
